Arizona Pediatrics provides comprehensive office-based services for well-child care, immunizations, behavior and developmental issues, and the treatment of routine childhood illnesses.

Well-Child Care
A well visit is the appointment where nothing is wrong — and that is exactly what makes it useful. We track growth and development over time, screen at the ages screening actually catches things, and keep immunizations current.
Well visits are also the calmest appointment you will get with a pediatrician. Bring your list of questions.

Same-day appointments for children who are unwell
Sick Visits
Childhood illnesses are common, and worrying about them is normal. We keep room in the day for children who wake up sick.
Call us first if you can. A walk-in has to be worked into the schedule, which usually means a longer wait with an unhappy child in the room.

From the hospital nursery to your first weeks at home
Newborn Care
Newborns are seen within a day or two of leaving the hospital, then again at one and two weeks, because feeding, weight and jaundice all move quickly at that age.
Expectant parents are welcome to come in and meet a pediatrician before the birth — see the complimentary Meet the Doctor visit below.

Immunizations
Immunizations are given during well visits, following the current schedule from the American Academy of Pediatrics and the CDC.
If your child has fallen behind — a move, a gap in insurance, a lost record — say so when you book. Catch-up is routine and we will work out the schedule with you.

A respiratory therapist on site
In-House Respiratory Therapy
Having a respiratory therapist on staff means a wheezing child can usually be assessed and treated here, rather than being sent somewhere else.
It also means inhaler and spacer technique can be worked through in the office.

Milestones, behavior and school concerns
Behavior and Development
Behavior and development questions rarely fit in the last two minutes of a visit, so tell the front desk when you book that this is what you want to talk about and we will allow the time.
Extra time is allotted for new patients and for children with special health care needs.

Circumcisions
Circumcision is one of the services listed by the practice. Call the office and we will talk you through what is involved and when it can be done.

Care that keeps going through age 18
Adolescent Care
We care for patients from birth through age 18, which means the physician signing a sports physical is often the one who saw them as a newborn.
Continuity is the whole point: one practice, from the newborn visit through the last teen physical.

Where our doctors see newborns
Our doctors examine newborns born at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Phoenix Baptist Hospital and Banner Good Samaritan. After you go home, your baby’s first visit with us is a day or two after discharge.
If you are expecting, come and meet us first — the Meet the Doctor visit is free and is the easiest way to have your questions answered before the birth.

Our doctors welcome parents to come in and meet them and the office staff — free of charge, with no obligation. It is a chance for your child to get comfortable with the office, and for expectant parents to have their questions answered before the baby arrives.
